What started in 1952 as a simple television repair company has evolved into the Piedmont region’s premier retail organization for a large range of home appliances and electronics, including refrigerators, freezers, ranges, cooktops, ovens, kitchen cleanup, laundry, TV, audio, grills/outdoor kitchens and more.

The second generation of the Player family entered the company.
Developed a Builder/ Contract sales division
New Builder showroom added with premium appliances to aid in our Builder & Contract Sales Division.
A central distribution center was established.
Enhanced customer experience through advanced product displays.
Established retail sales division flagship store located on Queen City Drive.
Expanded and doubled our showroom size while also paving are way into themattresses industry.
Opened Queen City’s 6th store location in Pineville, North Carolina on furniture row and expanded our inventory to include furniture in addition to appliances at the first Queen City Home Store.
The third generation of the Player family entered the company.

After tremendous growth and the addition of distribution partners, Queen City invested in a new 104,000-square-foot warehouse and corporate office space in Charlotte, NC.
Queen City opened its Outlet Store in the old warehouse space on Queen City Dr.
Queen City serves the entire DMA with a warehouse and 8 stores in Charlotte, Pineville, Monroe, Salisbury, Morganton, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, NC, and the 9th e-commerce store online.
