“I’m very excited to help push Queen City Audio, Video & Appliances to the next level,” Player says. “I have a deep passion for what I do and look forward to continuing to learn and grow with our family business.”

Kate is part of the third generation of Players working in the family business. After graduating from Wake Forest University in 2016 with a degree in finance, Kate took a position as a financial analyst for Inmar, Inc. In 2019, Kate decided to join her grandmother, Frances Player, in building the accounting department at Queen City Audio, Video & Appliances and securing a sustainable financial growth strategy for the business. As controller, Kate’s major role will be overseeing the financial reporting, accounts payables and receivables while managing a team of accounting and customer service professionals.

“We’re thrilled to have someone with Kate's skill set and expertise to take on the position of controller,” says Roddey Player, president & CEO of Queen City Audio, Video & Appliances. “During her time here, she has helped guide us through tremendous growth while keeping us financially secure. She has proven herself as the leader of our accounting team, and I know she will do a tremendous job in her new role as controller."
