Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) means that each LED light behind the screen operates independently and can turn on and off as needed. All other LED TVs will operate the LED lights in small groupings. OLEDs produce the blackest blacks because each individual LED can turn off and black is being obtained at the pixel level. This allows precision, sharpness, and blacks that cannot be matched by any other technology. Colors really pop on OLED screens which allows for better viewing angles.
OLED TVsLED TVs have a liquid-crystal display that uses LEDs for backlighting instead of traditional fluorescent backlighting. LED displays are energy efficient, run cooler, and last longer than the former LCD TVs with fluorescent lights.
LED TVsGetting a soundbar is one of the easiest ways to upgrade the sound of your TV. The built-in speakers on most TVs don't provide the depth of sound needed to bring movies, sports, & TV shows to life the way they are intended to be enjoyed. Soundbars make great improvement options because are easy to install and very affordable. We offer an array of choices to fit any space and budget!
With TVs having higher resolutions and better picture quality these days, you can sit closer to the screen and still not see the pixels. Bigger is generally better when it comes to screen size for living rooms because they will fill more of your field of vision and give you a more immersive experience for movies.
A good formula to calculate the minimum TV size for your room is....
Viewing distance from the TV (in inches)/2 = recommended TV size.
Example: If you usually sit 10 feet from the TV, that's 120 inches (10 feet x 12 inches). 120/2 = 60"
A term that you often see referred to when shopping for a TV is "refresh rate". Refresh rate is how many times per second your TV refreshes images. Higher refresh rates let your TV display motion more smoothly and with less blur. This is especially useful with programming that has lots of motion such as sports and high-action movies.
All of our TVs come with 3 or 4 HDMI ports. These are used to connect cable boxes, DVD players, game systems, and media streaming players such as Roku, Chromecast, & Amazon Fire Stick. How many you need is specific to your personal needs, but most people do fine with 3 HDMI ports. However, it can be a good idea to prepare for future needs and have extra available HDMI ports when you need them! Our sales associates can walk you through the models, explain the differences, and help you find the TV that fits your needs and budget.
We receive TVs on a regular basis so in most cases a model won't be out of stock very long. As long as there are no delays from the manufacturer, we will usually be back in stock within days. If you're looking for a model that is out of stock, talk to an associate about reserving one on our next shipment! We'll let you know when it arrives and have it available for delivery or pickup at your closest location.
In many cases, yes! If it is one of the many brands that we carry and isn't discontinued, we can usually order it. There are literally 100's of models of TVs in the market today and it's just not feasible to carry them all so we carry most of the models we think most of our customers will be interested in. However, we love special orders, custom work, and designer spaces! Talk to one of our sales associates about your project and the options available! We look forward to working with you!
LED stands for Light-Emitting Diode. LED TVs have liquid-crystal backlighting rather than tradition fluorescent lighting like LCD TVs. OLED stands for Organic Light-Emitting Diode and means that each light in the back of the TV operates independently. OLED TVs allow for truer whites and blacks on the screen because of this and can provide a more precise image.
Follow the instructions for your specific soundbar to determine how to connect it. Many soundbars have wireless connections and can be connected to a smart TV through Bluetooth connection. Others will require an HDMI or audio cables.
