After few initial problems, which Maytag responded to promply, the freezer is working very well.

I purchased this freezer nearly 2 months ago. Unit appears as advertised -- no surprises. As expected, in comparing it to last unit of comparable size and price, which lasted 34 years, this unit seems under-powered (motor noises, while tolerable, exceed those of prior unit) and unlikely to last longer than its 10-year compressor warranty. Bottom shelf lacks pull-out drawer, which reduces storage capacity. Overall, an okay purchase given price.

Works as it should. The top is has a bulge in the middle making it hard to level and very surprised to see the nameplate crooked. Proud to buy a Michigan product, sorry to see lack of quality control.

I bought this freezer 4 months ago, it has ruined every thing in it twice and the place I got it from tells me they can't do anything about the food. First time I understand if it happens once but this is the second time and it is getting expensive to fill it. I will only be using this for ice now, I cannot afford to fill it and have the meat spoil. The service guy says he will keep coming back until the warranty runs out. This should be great for 1 year. Both times it has been from a leak in a line.

I bought this a month ago, went on vacation, & came home to find ice build-up right inside the freezer door. This is suppose to be self-defrosting freezer. I pulled out the manuel & started reading. I also called for service. Reading the manual, I find out, all the air vents have to be kept clear of anything. Right there, you loose a big portion of the capacity. They don't tell you that up front when your looking to buy. The device man comes out & 1st thing, he notices the door is damaged, which is causing air to flow into the freezer. It will take 6 - 8 weeks for a new door, & I should unplug it, & wait for the new door. REALLY??? It's full of food, I'm having a party in a week, & if I could go without a freezer for that length of time, why would I even need a freezer? Contacted the place where I purchased, & got a manager. He called Maytag headquarters to explain the situation, & all you said was that you could speed up the delivery time. REALLY??? Why not just replace it? It's your fault it is damaged! I guess you don't check your products; don't believe in 'quality control'. The delivery men had to install the door. Why didn't they notice??? My last Maytag purchase before this freezer was a gas range. The control panel exploded within the 1st few months. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
