We did a kitchen reno and got first use of the new fridge unit in the middle of August. Since that time we've delightedly gotten to enjoy its features and there are no complaints to speak of at this particular time. I*t's huge.

Have used this refrigerator several times for various clients, as well as myself - we have had the black sides painted to match the cabinetry - electrostatic painters can do this. Just make sure to remove everything from the freezer and fridge before painting if already installed.

I am doing a complete home remodel including the kitchen. I bought this refrigerator because it was French door, panel ready and cabinet depth. I have owned many kitchenaid appliances in the past and have been pleased with them. When they installed the refrigerator this week, I was shocked to find out that it is not fully integrated. Why have panels on the front when you have to have 3-4 inches of black showing on the sides!! Very poor engineering and dishonest advertising. It has ruined the feel and look of my kitchen.

I got this for a client. It showed on product page with a picture of flush fridge with panels . We made cabinet surround at 29 deep. Deeper than needed by specs. Like other complaints I now have read, the unit cannot be pushed all the way back and the sides of the door are 4" thick and black not covered by panel. It does not look anything like what was expected or advertised on product page. If they showed on the product page how it would really look half of the complaints would never happen. And people like me would not have purchased as it is not what we wanted. The refrigerator took weeks longer than expected then arrived totally damaged on the side. I called the distributor & they said they could ask whirlpool for a credit. We did not want to wait 6 to 8 weeks again & I thought the whole side of the refrigerator would be covered so we accepted a credit. I was gone while they installed the refrigerator & came back in horror to see this eyesore in the beautiful kitchen. Not at all like what they had on the product page. On top of the damage on arrival, and it not being like the product page/description the freezer panel will not stay attached. The 2 upper doors were attached not a problem but the bottom panel continually falls off it is ridiculous. I contacted the distributor & said I do not want the credit for the damage as this is not what it is supposed to be & it was damaged & the front panel is faulty. They supposedly went back & forth & kitchenaid said they gave a credit for the damage that was at delivery, case closed no returns. I am escalating this with kitchenaid. I am not eating this refrigerator! As per the 100s of reviews I have now seen all over online you have a problem with your product description page! You are supposed to be a good brand that stands behind your product. I am a contractor & Designer & you have been my go to brand for most kitchens. This was the 1st time trying this refrigerator & it is an unacceptable mess!

This refrigerator will work if you have any common sense. The dimensions and rough openings are listed. I would bet that most of the custom kitchen cabinets were bought at a discount major retail dealer where the customer and the salesman had no clue about what they were doing. If you had a cabinet shop build your cabinets, you picked the wrong shop. I build houses and I build cabinets. I don't have a problem with this. It makes me laugh to read these reviews. You people are something.
